Myosin regulatory light polypeptide 9 is a highly conserved, ubiquitously expressed protein that in humans is encoded by the MYL9 gene. Myosin, a structural component of muscle, are hexameric proteins consisting of two heavy chains and four light chains, including a single pair of nonphosphorylatable light chain subunits and another pair of phosphorylatable light chain subunits. The protein encoded by this gene is a myosin light chain that may regulate muscle contraction by modulating the ATPase activity of myosin heads.Myosin light chain (Myl) 9 and Myl12 are new functional ligands for CD69. Blockade of CD69-Myl9/12 interactio ameliorates allergic airway inflammation in ovalbumin-induced and house dust mite-induced mouse models of asthma.(1) This rabbit monoclonal antibodies against Myl9/12 (clone F-6) is made by immunization with N-terminal peptide of Myl9.
